Rent Continuation: Protect yourself from lease cancellation or lease termination.

Of all the recent developments in the wireless industry, the one that can most impact your bottom line lease profits is the merging of several cellular companies into one larger, more dominant carrier. With this change, carriers often plan to decommission thousands of redundant cell sites across the country and they're using this shift in the market as leverage to pressure landlords like you into rent reductions.

Our members expressed concern and fear that they may lose their wireless tenants if they don't agree to these wide-ranging rent reductions. We created the Rent Continuation Program (RCP) to respond to our members' needs and to provide them with added security and peace of mind. Members pledge a portion of their leases to us and transfer the inherent risk of carrier cancellation over to the WLA.

How it works is simple: Once you're enrolled as a Premier member of the Wireless Landlord Association, a small portion of your rents supports the services we offer, including the RCP. If a tenant cancels his lease through no fault or inducement by you, we will lease the property from you at the exact same financial terms and conditions as were in place at the time of cancellation. Additionally, we will market your cell site and search for a replacement tenant.
